What ever 2006 Powerquest models are available to be shown should be going to the main event, the Miami show!
I know its probally very expensive, but all the existing dealers should of split the expense. You cannot put a price on exposure. People go to that show to buy. Dont get me wrong, its great that there at Clevend, but for the people of that general area. People from all over the country go to the Miami show and only that show, well hopefully next year.

Hi all, havent been on in a while. I live on the southshore of Long Island, New York....
Exactly. This holds true for any non-Cigarette, Donzi, Formula, Apache, etc. boat manufacturer that needs recognition. Recognition breeds association which begats sales. It all boils down to hiring the right people to do the right job and giving them a little operating budget to make it happen.

All this smack talk is making me antsy for fairer weather.... :D

I bet they lost their spot for this year. And my understanding is getting floor space at Miami is not the easiest thing. I am not sure if they were even there last year. Anybody know?

Re: Powerquest Factory

I WAS THERE LAST YEAR AND THE YEAR BEFORE, PQ was not represented either year. Too bad as they are clearlly unique and I am sure would impress folks. But first they need a dealer down there.

From what I am to understand and I may be wrong the only dealer with 2006 boats was Great Lakes Marina and they only had a few. Matter of fact so few that they would be at the Detroit show and not the GR show due to they were on or to close in date. I wonder if Great Lakes was the dealer at the Ohio show???

Great Lakes was that you in Ohio???

I've never been at the Cleveland show but I've been told it's the one to be at in the Northeast area. Gotta beat the Chicago show!

I may have to take a road trip. It isn't that hard to beat Chicago. The performance boats just are not there for the most part. It is over 90% runabouts or big cruisers.

Anybody on this thread have any good contacts for Yamaha jet skis. I put in a jet ski lift next to the boat lift at the new dock. I am looking for a new, or almost new 4 stroke yamaha.

I will probably go with the standard one, not sure the model but I don't want the detuned version, and don't need the HO model. They have a redish burgandy color one that will go good next to the new boat!

Anybody aware of a good dealer to work with, please let me know.

Re: Powerquest Factory

Here is what I was told was present at the Cleveland show. It is not nearly as good as it used to be when National was still around.

Baja 405
35 OL
25 OL
3 or 5 Powerquests.
46 Cig
4 Fountains
1 eliminator eagle w/ (2) 757SC's hooked to bravo ones
Mercury 600 SC

the eliminator dealer had a ilmor V-10 on a dolly by itself

Here is a link to another forum site with some pictures.
http://www.hilsingermotorsports.com/...&threadid=4141

I'm glad to hear PQ might be coming back. I had 1997 260 Legend and loved the boat. If I get the urge to go back to a V, I hope PQ is around and they would be one of my first considerations.

I may make a run to the Detroit show this year. Is it worth the 3 hour trip??
I don't think I've ever been in and out of the Chicago show so quick! 2.5 hours and back on the road. I did manage to pick up some of those new flat style foam bumpers.

Great Lakes was that you in Ohio???[/QUOTE]

No, we were not in Ohio. Yes, it was Al from Motion Performance. The 2006 380 Avenger and 2006 240 Ultra were our boats. We let Al borrow the boats. We will have Five Boats in the Detroit Show; 380, 320 SC, 300, 260, 240. Due to the Grand Rapids and Detroit Show overlapping again, we will not have any boats at the Grand Rapids Show. We will have a booth display and information on hand.

The Detroit show usually has; Formula, Baja, PQ, and Sunsation. Last year there were some Nordic, Velocity and one Cig. Not sure if they will be there this year.

Skippy, Good to hear from you! So tell me, I've never been to the Detroit show and was wondering if it's worth the trip? I had planned on attending the GR show and did hit the Chicago show (waste). Is the Detriot show about the same as Chicago?

Thanks Brian

Brian, The Detroit Show is a good show for Big Boats. Not the best to see a variety of High Performance boats. Of course just stopping by to see us and our display is worth it. LOL

I am familiar with Powerquest and am a former employee of a past PQ dealer. The RUMOR i heard was the gentleman that owns the cat "perfect storm" is involved with the purchase of PQ and me even be a part owner. If that is true this could be a very interesting direction PQ may be heading. ....Again this was something i heard today, i will see if i can find some more out.

OK, more rumors................
I heard from a PQ employee that they are being called back to work in 30 days. Seems that a large marina in Muskegon has bought them??? Great Lakes??? Ed are you the guy??? Iam told that I will see the letter this week stating that this person is going back to work. I will keep you posted if this document does in fact become reality.

So there you go................

this is how the rumor mill keeps going and going and going..............

Dam right!!! Ed better sack up and put on the MAJOR bash!!!!!!!
I cant go into too much detail, but this person is applying for a loan of sorts through one on my brokers and needs to show me that there working and have the ablity to repay, alwayse nice, so I really dont think that at this point they would play the "Im going back to work card" and not be able to prove it. Never know, I seen stranger things...............

Re: Powerquest Factory

I talked to Bob Luellen last week and asked him if he knew who the new owners were. He had heard the rumors too, but did not have any real news. Great Lakes Marine also came up in conversation since my boat is listed and he suggested I call Ed as he is a good friend of his. I would think he would have said something about them being the new owners.

Allow me to cut to the chase here..Jack Moll is still the owner of Powerquest Boats. After six months, It is still not operating today.. 01/22/06..There is another prospective buyer who has offered to purchase the company and is in negotiations..The timing is now more critical on survival of the name and its loyalty..TMB was there to start the operations the first of this year.. Ladies and Gentlemen, THE DEAL WAS DONE !! Period!! The doors would have been reopened and operating according to TMB..Now a twist has begun with the new group headed by Phil Hall and his partners to attempt to purchase the company..Phil, If your reading this, I wish you the best in your endeavors.. As being a part of the industry for a long time, stranger things go on in this boat building world..I am very disturbed by all this, knowing more on how it went down... Hopefully you will land the purchase so the employees can come back and build a good product and support their families. The PQ dealers having piece of mind on making a living selling these boats..The customers who enjoy owning a Powerquest Boat time after time..

I stopped in the Powerquest booth at the Cleveland Boat Show today and asked what was going on at the factory. One of the gentlemen there said he was a Powerquest employee and an announcement will be made in 3 weeks. He hinted that the new owner(s) is into racing.

He runs a boat rigging shop in Muskegon Michigan. Some have heard of him and some have not..
By the way, yes six months..The owner kept this thing pretty quiet from the public, dealers and the press.
