flat screen TV for 380

I want to add a flat screen TV in my Avenger this winter. The boat did not come with a TV or any of the external cable hooks ups. Has anyone done this? Or does anyone have any close up pics of there TVs and info on the instal would be a HUGE help.

Is it spring yet???

Mine had a TV/VCR unit and I converted it to Flat Screen. But don't have any pictures.
I don't see it being any problem with nothing already in the boat. I think that would make for a cleaner install

I put a 15' flat screen and dvd in my 34' PQ . Fits real tight up in the corner with a wall mount. Had it done by a professional marine stereo audio installer. They cut a small whole in the vinyl and glassed a wall mount to the back side of the head compartment. It is very solid and look great. Cost about $350 for the install, looks great.

Thanks Performancemary, Which bracket did you use to mount the TV to the wall? Where did you mount the DVD player? Thanks a ton for the info :D

Here is another tip and if you guys care I will look up the link!

A very nice 12vdc dimmer for the indirect lights that I consider to be VERY direct and in your face why is God in the cabin lights!

We love it and the nice atmosphere it created  I have it mounted right in the cabin switch panel but of course have no picts to share until spring.

The mount for the TV was a standard wall mount that you can get at any Best Buy store. I believe the installer built up a fiber glass block on the back side of the head compartment and screwed the bracket to the block then somehow reached up behind the TV and screwed the mount to the back of the TV. All these LCD units have standard mounting holes for use with the after market brackets.

The DVD Player was mounted under the lip of the seat cushion on the starboard bench seat. It fit real nice in that space, didn't stick out beyond the front of the cushion at all. The installer placed a remote sensor up in the corner at the top od the TV so all I had to do was point the DVD remote at the TV and I could control the DVD player.

I used the white one and will have a picture in the Spring. I have it mounted in the 12v side of the switch panel replacing three of the extra breakers and utilizing the green power LED's that were associated with them so they dim with the lights. Looks good!

I would stick with lcd tv's and not try the plasma. Plasma's can loose their gas if they are tilted while on, I have a friend that lost one in an RV while going down an incline, it melted while they were watching it.

What brand is that TV? A TV/DVD combo unit or separate? I'm wanting to do the same, but thinking about a 12v TV to use while away from the slip. Just having trouble locating one.

Looks like a very clean install.

I installed an 120v outlet in that location for a buddy of mine in his 34 PQ for his flatscreen. We removed the cabinet, mirror, toilet paper holder??? (I forgot what it was) from inside the head compartment and had access to the whole back side of the wall your TV is mounted to.
