Default 290 Enticer Props?

I have a 93 290 with 502 mags, K planes and external steering. I just bought the boat and have very little seat time in it, but in examining it I have some questions about the props.

It is currently running 23P 3 blade Bravo 1s turning out.

That seem ssmallish to me pitch wise but was wondering what others were using and seeing speed wise

Thanks

Christian

If they are 3-blades, they are most likely Mirage or Mirage Plus. What RPM's are you seeing at WOT? I would have thought it would have 25" pitch props running 3-blades.

Just went out and checked they are 23P Quicksilver Mirages, verified that they are turning out.

I could not give speed and RPM figures. only seat time I have it the sea trial, and did not go fro broke during that just verified all functions and drivabilty.

Thanks

I would think at a minimum you'd want to see Miarge plus 3 blades, but I would think with all that weight Bravo 1 4 blades would help carry and air out the hull the best. The only true way to know is try different props this summer.

23 pitch is the correct prop.
have a prop shop add a cup to the the props and then they will be the same as a Mirage plus.
you will have less slip on accelaration.

I ran 23 on my 2000 29 with 310 hp and hit rev lim, put on a set of 25's and ran perfect I would at least try that once. Some of the prop shops will send you different sets until you find the ones you like by just holding a credit card number. Good luck.

Rich.

I am going to wait until spring to see how it runs, but with 502s (415hp) and 23P is just seemed small, but I guess it is best to see where I am come spring

Thanks

ckentling,

My 1991 ,290 also running mirage 23p. The previous owner said 72 on gps. I have 502s carbs (380-390) hp but not for sure on actual hp. I need help guys. My only actual seat time was the sea trial so I am taking the previous owners word on the gps. Hope this helps.

Not looking to cause a sh!t storm here, but it seems to me that 23P 3 blades seems very small for twin 502s on this boat. I was running 28P 4 blades on my Sun with 454 mags. Rich carried 25P with 310 hp 454 MPI's on the 29PQ. I would think 415 hp would at least turn 26 pitch 4 blades, if not more.

Like I said, I am not trying to stir a boat manufacturer debate, but I think the PQ 29 hull can push more than a 23 P 3 blade with twin 502s. I would think you would be on the rev limiter big time with the 23P 3 blades.
