NOT THE FASTEST BUT I DO BREAK 80

Have a 2001 38 with 575sci's and 32 maximus fie blades. GPS is 81 at just under 5000 RPM. Everything but the props are stock. I am looking for a pair of 34 bravo 1's . Should be at 83 with the change.

The wife and I had our 380 out today and it ran 83 on the GPS speedo and 82.8 on the Garmin. I have 525's with 30" pitch four blade Bravo's. This is the first time I had it up to speed since we bought it. I did not get much of a chance to fine tune the trim as I hit the rev limiters. I had a 1/2 tank of fuel and there was a light chop. It seems that I could use more prop or a five blade at the same pitch.

Not as fast as Drippenwet......

79.6 GPS last year.

Over the winter added labbed props and took off the mufflers.

The P/Q dealer herein Orlando at the time had a 00 38 with twin 600 Inovations and Volvo Duoprops(the only P/Q I've ever seen with Volvo drives) that I rode in at the Miami boat show in 00 showed 90 on gps with a light chop and 4 people on board but the boat had a terrible vibration just above an idle. Shortly after that the dealer lost his franchise(and sold the dealership to Travis Marine) the boat was repo'ed by the factory and bounced around the United States for sale for a couple of years, the last I'd heard it was in Texas for sale. The boat was white with red and blue graphics.

How did that hull handle 90 MPH?

Not bad with the duoprop setup it was pretty stable, from what i gathered the boat was delivered from P/Q minus engines/drives/rigging and set-up by someone here in Fl.
Mark Boniface was the P/q rep here at that time and he could have given more insight into that boat, but I don't know how to get ahold of him anymore.
