Default vac-u-flush toilet

Hi all, does any one know the holding tank capacity of a 97 avenger with a vac-flush toilet? Also how can you tell when its time for a pump out besides having it overflow? My boat has no gauge or monitor for the holding tank level. This boat is new to me this year, so i am trying to learn what i can about her. I just sold my 98 29 enticer. I don't intend on using the toilet much, just some late night / early morning pees no turds! Thanks.

Look back in the archive of past post....in this group. There was a couple nice postings ... and I am thinking 2 years back. If no lucking going back that far.... I will email the one person who I know has a good idea and grip on this subject.....he did some major overhauling of his system

Mine has the new VHT12 system...not as good as the old system

Here ya go, found it: http://www.offshoreonly.com/forums/s...hlight=holding

You can also email Goomba...he can answer the question. But there is a part for telling hte level in the tank.

not trying to hijack your thread but..........
My head would not pump fresh water at the end of last year, I thought it pulled fresh water from the lake but now Im wondering if it pulles water from the water tank on board. Does anyone know which it is? I do have a masseraitor (sorry spelling) too. Dont know if that changes thins or knot....

And it does need a guage to tell ya how full the dam thing is!! I get it pumped every time I get gas just in case!!

A vacuflush gets water from water tank via presurized fresh water system.
Therefore the fresh water pump must be on.

Hey Bill, my head is a "pump" style, not a vac-u-flush. Will that also draw water from the holding tank?

Pump styles usually draw raw water and if that is the case you will have a raw water valve and shutoff usually just forward of the engine. You may have two valves if you have water cycle A/C.

Mine has a red light mounted in the head with a note that says 'when light is on tank is full'. And when it comes on the vacuflush goes off, so keep that in mind.

I thought the holding tank was 6 gallons, but it takes a LOT of pee flushes to fill it up that's for sure.
