Has anyone ran into any of the old PQ Factory crew?? I really am surprised that we don't hear anything on this board from any of the past employee's.

I know a couple guys they found new jobs :(

Re: Is PQ still in Business?

One former employee contacted me because of some posts I made on another thread. He sent me an email discussing some of the recent history at the PQ factory before the shut-down. Maybe if he or others feel comfortable about it, they can share their experiences/thoughts with all of us.

I hope the best for all of the former employees.

Scott Moll (Grand Products), Jack Moll's son, told me in an email that a deal was in the works that should come to close sometime this fall. It was not explained why it was taking so long.

Well it has been about 9 months...I thought I had a direct connection, but that person has done nothing but string me along and tell a bunch of untruths. But in reality, NOTHING is going on....it's dead in the water...no negotiations or nuthin

Re: Is PQ still in Business?

Any word on a possible re-opening is good in my book. I still feel slated by the owners of PQ for not letting us in on whats going on to a certain extent. I don't need numbers just a simple press release that somethings in the works. I won't hold my breath. It only seems to me the longer the doors are closed and the gas prices continue to go up, it's going to be a tough road.

If there is not an '07 boat cranked out of there soon, I believe they will down for the count

I just heard the very same thing from an ex- PQ employee. New owner is committed to the deal. Details being worked out for fall opening. New owner (owns a rigging shop) has been mentioned on this board.

I stopped at Dave Mungenast MotorSports & Marina (PQ dealer) this week in the ozarks, they were under the impression the deal was almost done if not done. They tried to tell me they could get me a new order next month.

I just played along and let the salesman talk......

I stopped by the Powerquest dealer in the Ozarks this week also and was to ld the very same thing about PQ. They said that they expect them to be back up and running very soon and they felt that the new owner is going to be good for PQ. It will be great if they can do some marketing and get the name and the boat the recognition that it deserves.

If it were me (and I've been thinking about what to do with my forthcoming lottery winnings ;) ), I'd take a hard look at using the 29' Enticer hull as a good starting point for a CC boat like the Concepts.... just a thought.

That is the best news I've heard in a long time. I had pretty much given up!
Now maybe I can a get a few parts I've been needed. You really don't realize how nice it is to have PQ in your own backyard till there gone.
With luck they'll get some of the old staff back. Always enjoyed talking with Rick Gimmel.

I have had a pretty good PQ experience already. I probably would make a good salesman and would love to help promote the company..........now if Phil and his group would like to provide gas money....parts, maybe even a 34-38 demo boat that would be pretty cool!! :drink: :drink: I would even settle on some hats and t-shirts! HaHa!

Hang in there, people. I'm one of the die-hard employees who have been following the threads with great interest since we were cut loose last September. Some of the rumors have been entertaining, if innacurate. It takes a lot of guts to put your money where your mouth is, the buyer is too smart to close without addressing some of the old messes left behind by the previous regime. Take heart, PQ fans, there should be some exciting and positive news forthcoming. Please understand that I can not spill all that I know because of the confidential nature of most of it. Just don't be discouraged by people who drive by the plant once in a while, or think they know someone who used to know someone who may know something. Business is business, and the buyer and those of us who remain are motivated to crank out a quality product and uphold the good name going forward. Stay tuned.

Welcome - I think you'll find a lot of positive suggestions from us die-hard owners (first order of business - fix the POS hatch ram!!! ;) )

Re: Is PQ still in Business?

I had an interesting conversation Saturday in Party Cove at LOTO with a couple of guys who ended up at the back of my boat.

Apparently my boat was built for the owner of PQ in 93 and has some unique things about that graphics that only that boat had (learn something new every day) but in talking with these guys thay also said that the deal is done and just needs to have the t's dotted and it i's crossed.

Again just a party cove conversation, but it was great news none the less :drink:
