I just signed up for membership. I've had 7 Powerquests in the past 18 years. I keep going back to the 260 Legend because of that crazy no wake rule for anything over 26' in Spring Lake Mi. Here's some pictures of my past PQ's.

I had my old 1992 Conquest there. I believe I was the smallest boat that made it across. The trip back was pretty brutal. But all in all it was a blast. Now I can say I've taken a boat across the lake to Chicago.

Not Right, Looks like another 26? By the way what do you have for power, what prop and speed (gps) are you getting?

I think its a 280. I see a step

Pete280 11-18-2006 04:46 PM

Re: Show Your PQ Support!!!

it's a 280, the previous owner tweaked it pretty well, I have seen 69.5 gps, he had it to 70.1. 502mpi, gil exhaust, k&n filter, labbed 26 bravo, he also added a 1" drive spacer and picked up 2 mph (i think), he felt like the x was too high. The ecu was remapped by tyler crockett, I have no experience with the boat prior to the remap, but the midrange is real strong.

Re: Show Your PQ Support!!!

I'm new to the site, but I did want to say I'm in my second PQ (1999 280 Silencer) and I love their boats. We lost our 270laser in a boat shed fire this summer. Fire sucked, but the new boat makes it easier to accept. There was no question about what we wanted to replace the pile of ashes.

I wonder if a former PQ employee could give me hull dimensions,my son and I are considering building a scale replica mini-PQ (about 9 ft) for him to play in at the lake :-D

That is the money shot!! Nice boat!! 3 weeks in florida in February--Im jealous! How much of a pain was it to tow 20 hours? I just purchased my powerquest in IL (I live in WA). Was planning on paying a shipping company to ship it here (Ive been quoted $1500) but am also considering a flight to Chicago, renting a truck and driving it back..2000 miles..Not sure which route Im going to pursue (would do it in May).

Winter stinks, although it is going to be 70 degrees in Overland Park today. Not bad. Looking at PQ's helps pass the time. Here is mine (rerun picture) and a picture of Lake Perry from about 800 feet.

I was going to rent a truck, nearly 18cents a mile plus the cost of renting it day to day. Flawless trip! Wasn't a pain at all. Every gas refill I rechecked the tie downs, bow wrench, tires, hitch and lights. I miss her. Can't wait to run her again while all of you have your boats stored under covers with your engine blocks filled with antifreeze. Of course, then there is the 3hour clean up after running in salt water, well worth it though :D

Re: Show Your PQ Support!!!

Thanks Fast Forward. When I bought it, I was given a certificate from the factory saying that it was 1 of 3 boats, a blue, red, and our yellow version painted like this.

Big wx change 2 days ago 70 degrees, yesterday 26 and an ice storm. Today, 21 and expecting a metric buttload of snow!

OK, stoopid question from the newbie, please hold all hoots, howls and cat calls until the question is complete.... :drink:

Will there be a PQ rally in summer of 07 and who do I contact to get details so the 280 and I can join the fun?

Dave, The red ones been in our area a couple times and I must say one of the best looking boats around. For some reason the red really pop's! Yours is great as well! :D :D

Re: Show Your PQ Support!!!

Liquid, I think it's a little to early on the 07 Rally but my guess is as soon as they get things up and running they will put something togeather simply as a PR thing at this point.

liquidtherapy 12-01-2006 07:34 AM

Re: Show Your PQ Support!!!

Fast, "up and running" sounds like PQ is working towards re-opening their doors? That's great news!

If they don't arrange a rally is there a possibility of PQ owners setting a date and having one without the factory?

Dave98 12-01-2006 11:25 AM

Re: Show Your PQ Support!!!

It would be kind of cool for us to have a PQ rally and invite.......the factory!! :drink: We could call it a welcome back party!

Re: Show Your PQ Support!!!

Works for me. I'd be glad to help out. There are a couple other PQ's in my area, however I don't recall either being at the rally's. I'm in the Southwestern Michigan area. I think it would be great to do a mini Poker Run of some type. Find a location like Holland that has a large inland bay.
