Re: Show Your PQ Support!!!
Very nice boat and have to say I really like the graphics. Our 26 is the brochure boat in 97... I've always thought the 38 has the best lines out of all the PQ's. Than again it could just be that size thing.... :D :D

Re: Show Your PQ Support!!!
Johnny,

I cant seem to figure out how to attach a photo to my message (other than attach it with a link)..I wish I had some photo's of the boat in the water but what can you do? I just bought it. The boat was purchased from Fleet Marine in Steger IL. When do you guys typically hit the water at the Chain of Lakes? By May (in Seattle) we are typically getting some nice days in the mid to upper 60's by then. Anything similar in the midwest? Have any of you guys gone to the Desert Storm poker run on Lake Havasu in late April? A friend of mine and I are going to drive down there and go (on his 2002 28 ft Nordic Heat--which presently up for sale. If sold the PQ is coming to WA earlier than planned and will make the trip to AZ). Its one of the biggest poker runs in the country.

Re: Show Your PQ Support!!!
do you have the second page? I never read a review of the Legend. Does anyone have a magazine review of the 280 Silencer? I have never seen one and I have just about every magazine published since 1994.
|
Re: Show Your PQ Support!!!
280 silencer reviews:
Power Boating Canada Vol 13 Number 6 Lakeland Boating August 1999 Boating Nov 1999 Powerboat Dec 1998 All are real good reviews too! The 280 was a great boat!!! |

I see Otey has his 280 listed in the Classifieds. Wonder what will be next? |
Re: Show Your PQ Support!!!
Not Right, That was the only page on the 26 in the 1997 Brochure. There is a 2 page spread at the back which list all the models and options available.
I wish I could find a write up on the 26 as well. Bill........ :D |

Re: Show Your PQ Support!!!
The review for the 260 Legend was in the April 1999 issue of Powerboat Magazine and it was on the cover !
|
Re: Show Your PQ Support!!!
Here is a video from boating life which tests the 2002 Powerquest 280 silencer (and I must say the reviewer/captain loved the boat!!

Re: Show Your PQ Support!!!
Oh yea, I have the test for the 99 260, I cant get the video to run for the 280 test on Boating Life. Powerboat mag online doesnt go back to 1999, no big deal just neat to see what the experts say after you already know how the boats handle.

Re: Show Your PQ Support!!!
I was able to watch it. Great plug on the 28..

Re: Show Your PQ Support!!!
Not Right, Use this website to see if you can find what you are looking for. It has bunches of old websites stored somehow (it seems like it would be a tremendous amount of info). http://web.archive.org/web/*/http://...rg/web/web.php
|
Re: Show Your PQ Support!!!
Could someone copy that Legend review and either mail or fax it to me? PM me if you need my info. Thanks
|
Re: Show Your PQ Support!!!
I have someone e-mailing me 4 different reviews. As soon as I receive them I'll forward them to you.

Re: Show Your PQ Support!!!
Did anyone notice that the BoatingLife test on the 28 Silencer hit 74++mph using a 14.25x28p prop.?? I thought the Bravo props were 15.25 dia. What prop was the 14.25?? I am running a 26p on a 28' with the EFI and getting 69 mph always and occasionally 70.2. That 74 looks pretty good.
Maybe the 2001 is getting tired. |
Re: Show Your PQ Support!!!
didnt see the test, did that have a 502? those numbers are incredible for a 502. I have a 2000 28 and the boat has seen 70.1, I have only gotten 69.5. I run a labbed 26P. I just looked at my Prop's in the garage, my 24P says 15.25 on the box and the 26P is blank. Didnt feel like taking it out and measuring.
|
Re: Show Your PQ Support!!!
the video worked this time, nice review, that guy loved it, that had a 500efi, that would be the reason for the 74.5 mph.
|
Re: Show Your PQ Support!!!
I have copies of the reviews I listed above.
If wanted; Not Right needs to come get them and distribute them if necessary. In other words: Pete, you want reviews? Let me know and I'll bring them to work for your pick up. Others want copies? Ask Not Right. |
Re: Show Your PQ Support!!!
Thanks Bill, I have been meaning to call you about the 6.5" speakers you have, I think I want to add another set. My amp is on the factory 400 watts, would I have to upgrade the amp also?
I'll stop by your store sometime this week. |

I'll stop by your store sometime this week. 1 amp for sub what is powering cockpit speakers? Let me know if you want me to bring speakers in. They are at home. Thanx |
Re: Show Your PQ Support!!!
I'll ask Jon, I never really looked at it. The subs are tucked up on the side of the rear bench. I never pulled then out to see exactly what they are.

Re: Show Your PQ Support!!!
Mine is the EFI running a 26p prop, getting 69 and wanting more. Oh it is going to be a long winter. :( :(
|
Re: Show Your PQ Support!!!
sounds like it may be as simple as slapping on a 28P, but it's never that easy.

I just picked up an '02 340 Vyper last week! It's the eighth Powerquest I've owned in the last 20 years of boating. Big fan of Powerquest's fit and finish, roominess, and solid ride. I came back to owning a PQ even after owning a 312 Formula a couple of years. Looking forward to summer!
|
Re: Show Your PQ Support!!!
Jus Roamn. Very nice looking boat and welcome back to PQ.
By the way how did your PQ compare to the formula?? Everything we start shopping Formula enters the picture. |
Re: Show Your PQ Support!!!
Hey, Jus
Is that boat from charlavoix? If not it looks exactly like a friend of ours boat that he decided to sell this summer. Nice looking PQ. Congratulations |
Re: Show Your PQ Support!!!
Just Roamn,
good looking boat and welcome back to Powerquest!! Tim |
Re: Show Your PQ Support!!!
Yes ,the boat is from Charlavoix, MI. Great people, they're buying a new Searay. The Formula I had didn't have as straight of a hull as all the Powerquests that I've had, but I think that they're doing a lot better job now.
