Question Enticer FX Questions

1) Anyone have an Enticer FX with shorepower and a battery charger? Mine has shore power, but it doesn't have a battery charger. I bought one and I'm not sure where to mount it. I'd like to see where the factory mounted it.

2) Anyone have problems with the hydraulic lift for the hatch? I've got my cushions off the boat because they're soaked. The hydraulic ram couldn't lift the cover, it had to be helped. I'm hoping taking the cushions off and drying them out will solve the problem.

Edit: Getting familiar with this forum software, I'm on other boards, but none use this forum software. I did some searching and read that some people have wired with a relay and some have purchased a new ram from trick marine. Which solution works best?

3) Anyone changed water pump impellers on a Enticer? Ain't much room to get my ape hands in there.

Thanks in advance.

Scott

1. Mine has a new charger, mounted on the starboard side ahead of the battery. You could probably put it wherever it fits and be OK.

2. The hatch ram issue is my biggest pet peeve with Powerquest, and it is *not* limited to the 290. My 1999 280 had the same issues.

3. A big check or a lot of patience. Not looking forward to this myself...

dockrocker,

Did you solve your hatch ram issues? Or are you still using the pole and help lift idea I read about?

Do you have a pic of your battery charger mounting location?

The factory would fiberglass a board in the engine comp. on the starboard side to mount the charger on. The hull sides aren't thick enough to run screws into.

The last time I replaced impellers on a 290, I removed the rear seat, backrest, and the engine comp. front bulkhead (plywood with black felt glued to it) to allow enough room to get at the impellers and with all that stuff removed it was still a pain in the a$$.

I've got the same issue with the ram on my 26... very slooooooow. I had enough and called Rex marine to get the relay, but they were out of stock for 3 weeks. That was about 2 months ago and due to such poor weather and lack of use I forgot all about it. I'll be making a phone call to pick one up.

As for the water pump issue anything 29 and smaller has the same issue. Thats the price we pay to have a larger cockpit.

Rex Marine's website says that part is discontinued, but I see that Eddie Marine has one.

I put the Rex Marine relay in last spring, it corrected my problem. Works as you would expect it should now.

Originally I tried to order from Eddie Marine but they had discountinued it and had pointed me to Rex. At least I think it was Eddie that my first attempt failed on.

Changing impellers sux. Pay someone. My local mechanic was able to change the port in 30 minutes. So when my starbord went out a month later over the 4th I decided to do it myself. Took me about 5 hours, a lot of cursing, followed empty beer cans everywhere. Had bruises on my arms and head for a weak from trying to work upside down. I have since learned an easier way to do it but I am still going to pay someone next time. F that.

I would definitely put a hatch relay in first, it should be used with the factory or any aftermarket rams. I have a rex marine relay with a 24" travel bear linear ram from livorsi it works excellent on my avenger. Also when i had bought my enticer new the dealer ( lands end) installed my battery charger in back of the starboard side combing storage area. The boat was a 1998.

I agree, the relay works great. Installed one on my 38 last spring, no problems.
