I run 2 sets of props, spring and fall I run Hydro P5X 30's (they are 15", not the maximus 15.25 or 15.5, makes a difference) that have been labbed and I just get to the rev limiter at 82mph on the best day (they are actually not mine and I am looking to purchase if anyone has them??? Guy will let me use but not buy). In the sweltering mid-MO summer months I use my P5X 29's that have been labbed and just get to the rev limiter at about 78-79, maybe 80. Either one will pull strong to 75 every day, all day with a full load.

I had Hydro 28 4 blades (are also for sale) before I shortened the drives 2" with IMCO shorties. The difference with the 5 blades is amazing. WAY better hole shot, acceleration is untouchable and the top speed actually went up.

Tried a pair of Herings once, 6 blade 29's, which was too much prop, but I got 83mph at only 5000 rpms. Would love to get my hands on a pair of 28's, buy too cheap to but new!

Intersting infor. Where do you keep your tabs for top speed with the 30' hydro 5 blades.

Have Arneson rocker tabs and I usually don't mess with them too much. Generally run them level, which is about at 3-4.
