PQ 26 vs 29

Well we're back to possibly looking to up size the 26. Looking once again at the 29 Enticer as well as Formula. Just wondering if anyone on the board has moved from a 26 to a 29 and what the difference was. The 26 is a great riding boat and from time to time I see where someone will state a smaller boat has a better ride than it's larger counterpart. Also one I maybe looking at has twin 330 (310hp) and was told she would run in the mid 60's all day. Whats your thoughts?? Or anything else I should be looking at?? I want something with a nice size cockpit.

What are you looking to spend? Are you planning on a bigger boat than a 29 one day?

We still have this 34' that the Active Thunder Factory took in on trade from Macklin. The boat is spotless and immaculate. Macklin can share a lot of info.

I will get as aggressive on price as possible. There is no room at the factory to keep it, as such its currently in New Jersey.

34 would be great, however I think that size would be a little much to tow with my new halfton truck.

So buy my F-250 and you're golden ;)

I went from a 23 to the 290 I have now, and all I can say is I am very glad I did not get the 280, Now that I have had twins, I will never go back (hence why I am selling my 290 to look at 38's :D )

They make bigger trucks everyday! :D

You can get a NICE 7.3 PSD Ford F-250/F-350 (bulletproof too) for mid-high $20K range. I sold my 3/4 ton Avalanche on eBay in a week.

I'm just here to help. Let me know if I can be of any assistance. Powerquest has a strong following. This boat should be owned by someone who will cherish it.

Hey Fast Forward,
I went from a 260 to a 290 and was happy with the ride , but you do want external steering to keep the boat straight and safe. I then went to a 312 Formula which did have the hydraulic steering- much better. I did miss the room in the cockpit and cabin of the PQ though. I had carb 300s w/ EMI exhaust in the 290 and it did 72 . The 312 Formula had 454 mags (385) and it also went 72. For the price , room, and straighter hull , I'm back in a Powerquest!

I haven't seen the 340 that Sydwayz speaks of, up close, but I have been looking the market over pretty good for 340 Vypers, and that boat is my benchmark. When it sells, I will feel I missed out.

There is another 340 in VA I think. - Look for posts by 340Vyper. It has the fairing instead of a Windshield.

I currently have a 230 Conquest and even the 340 Vyper doesn't have the cockpit area that my 230 has ( if you're not counting the sun lounge pad). I think it may be the smaller front seats. I too am struggling with how much bigger you need to go to get more cockpit area and still stay in a performance model. My uncle has a 330 SS Formula with tons of room, and it really torques me up when my 230 won't pass him. But then again we're only talking 50+

Recently I have been looking at the Avengers but will hopefully own a 340 by next spring.

As far as Docking, the twins seam to be the way to go.
