They made the laser twin through at least '96. I have the full powerquest line brochure for my boat year and the laser twin is still listed in there with the 5.7's.

I have the 502 in mine and at crusing speed (3400 rpm) its still pretty good on gas. Best speed with GPS is around 64. I have heard that the laser twin is actually a little slower then the 502 just due to the extra weight and drag.

As far as handling goes it handles very well in the bigger waves. I just came back from put-in-bay today and the waves were 2-4 feet and I was surprised again as to how well it handles them. There is definately no inland lake that will be able to throw anything at you that you cant handle.

Good luck, keep us posted!

I owned a 93 Lazer with twins, it was a great boat, no problems at all. It would run about 65 mph all day long. I mainly used it on the chain in Illinois, but did take it out on Lake Michigan occasionally. The boat can handle bigger water, but is not the smoothest ride out there. I had the boat for six years, and I still see it on the water today.

Default 92 laser

I have that exact same boat (92 Laser with twin 350 Mags) with what looks to be the same graphics. I bought it knowing it would probably be a little slower than a single (502) but I wanted twins. As the one guy said there ain't an inland lake that this boat won't handle. As for the big lakes, it rides pretty decent 2,3, and even 4 footers aren't too bad if you're not going balls out. The previous owner told me he ran 64 mph consistently but my best is about 61 on GPS. The one nice thing about this boat is the great fuel economy. The boat is small enough that the small blocks aren't working hard at all.
