Default Gas leak/smell

Looking for some advice. I'm looking at a 290 enticer and the owner claims if you fill the tank pass 3/4 full you smell gas till the tank is 3/4 or below. Does anybody have any ideas? Could it be as simple a a loose vent line?

Use your nose and find where it's coming from...Gas fumes are NOT something that I'd want to deal with. I'd be very careful with this one...

I had a 1998 enticer and used to top it off all the time before going on trips and never had any gas or fume smells.I would definitely find the reason before considering the boat.

Maybe get in the boat with a cigarette lighter and keep moving it around, you'll find where it's coming from.

Check the gasket on the gauge sending unit. I had one leak on my 260.
