I was talking to someone at Great Lakes Marine where they used to deal PQ's. I was told the only change in the step hull on the Vypers was between '99 and 2000. while the 380's had several minor changes up through 2002.
So is a 2000 340 the same hull as the '02 - '05's?
I have searched threads here and find where and how to tell the difference between new step hull and old.
I just wanted to confirm I am thinking about this right.

Ed & Jamie at Great Lakes should know. If you want more input , contact Dan Khodl at Skipper Buds in Coopersville, MI.
They were the Powerquest dealer in that time frame of the late '90's and early 2000's. He was the one that ordered the '02 Vyper for Jeff , which I now have.
Any questions you can give me a call too , Shawn.

If you go through the posts om this you will learn about the Viper hull changes. The most significant was the change in 2000 where they cut the hull depth towards the rear of the boat. The easy way to tell if you have the old or new design is by looking at the tie down u bolts on the transon. If there is only an inch or so between the bottom of the u bolt and the hull bottom you have the new one. If the distance is closer to two inches you have the old hull. The diff is worth 3 to 5 MPH.
