We did several 600 DPX packages in Scarabs. The motors were great. I had two customers that ran the piss out of their boats for 350 hrs before they sold them. They had no mechanical failures. These engines were originally designed for the Navy. They were tested on a dyno @ WOT for 200 hrs.
A lot of people do not know about them and they are no longer in production so it does hurt resale.
If the motors are in good shape, I would not be scared of owning them.
One problem we did see on two of the boats that were used in salt water was that the Keith Eikert Exhaust got holes in them. Keith no longer builds the exhaust but I think you can get them from Inovation.

Thanks for everyones advice, I greatly appreciate it.

They are asking 100 but I was thinking offering 80 - 85 so it looks like the numbers work

THANKS :D

I also knew of a customer that had them in a 353 Fastech and his boat spent more time in the shop than in the water. It could go either way. Innovation is great but I would have Mercury power if he wants resale and reliability.

In todays economy,,I'd think even 80 to 85 was awful strong, especially with the Volvo setup, look through the OSO classifieds at comparable boats and see how long they have been on the market.
If you have the funds/credit, right now it's a buyers market and I'd think you could find better deals with a little patience.

Just my opinion, not meant to offend anyone.

I agree

Don't go for this one off boat. There are good boats out there for good prices with good motors that will have good resale.
