Default Back To Stock

Would putting a boat back to stock help sell it better then if it was modded? I have the IMCO external steering, hardin marine sea strainer with a built Gellner 454 and an IMCO 2" Shorty.

I think so. I know for the most part when I'm shopping as soon as I see engine mods listed I keep on going. Unless done by a reputable engine builder. But thats just me. I'd rather have the turn key low maintenance boat, if there is such a thing.

i would say stock would sell better. Most people (including me) realize that the life of high performance (modified) engines is much shorter, and they are less reliable. If you can find a buyer that wants the power and speed however, its worth keeping the modified engines in.

Decided to sell the boat as is. Someone is going to get a hell of a powerquest. Looking to get $30,000 out of it. Trailer is all re done as of 06 everything brand new on it. Hardin Sea Strainer, Hardin Gauges, IMCO steering, IMCO lower unit, outdrive just rebuilt less then 100hours ago. Gellner Engineering 454 GPS speeds of 69.6MPH. gotta get pics and create a boat trader and OSO ad anyone know anyone PM me.

HOWEVER if you would be interested in switching engines with me, I would trade plus cash for your 454 or 502 EFI MPIs!

I have a line on a 454 EFI MPI which is what came with the boat, does anyone know what this engine package is worth? Everything is complete, its drop it, from coupler to mer cruiser 454 MPI EFI sticker on top! I am thinking, with 310hours he says, $3000. Oil changed every 30hours.

Also, if i can get this replacement stock engine, would anyone be interested in a built 454, fresh hours.
