Hull length ?

My old vyper - the swim platform was more like 3 feet. Standing at the rear, I could touch transom with fingers and rubrail would be at my shoulder.
Add in the notch and it is about 29' - 30' of wetted surface-and rides like that too.

The reason I ask is becauseI am looking at a 34 viper to buy and the dealer is telling me that its a 34 hull. I have not measured it but It looks more like a 30 footer without the swim platform. I am going to test the boat this weekend and see how it does against my 31 scarab.

Does your Scarab have a molded in swim platform that is included in the length?

If it's molded it's included in the over all length. If it's bolted its not. Looks like you would be down sizing in a sense. However thats not to say the boat wouldn't ride better nor ride like a larger boat. As always its all in what you want.

I hear what's said about the Vyper being more like a 30-31' hull. And as it's my first bigger boat , I am impressed with it. Maybe I need more rides in Cigs & Skaters.

We have kids swimming all the time off the back swim platform. The Vyper is perfect for us. Even with the motors trailered all the way up the props are under the platform by 6". Very safe compared to a lot of other performance boats. Even Better than 330SS.
2. We were in Boyne Thunder crankin head on into 4-6'ers. Close, tall & Choppy. Not bad when over 50mph. But then the Cig TG came charging by like we were standing still. Nice, I think I then saw my next boat that day. If I can only get Angie to think about it. So far not so much.
