Default Repowering - What prop?

I'm repowering a 2000 280 silencer. I'm going with a stock crate 502 415 HP. Currently I have a 30p bravo, with my supercharged 502. What prop should I go to? I'm interested in getting up quick, and topping out in the mid 60s.

I'm running a 26P on my Velocity 280 with a 496HO (425hp)since your a few ponies shy you may want to try a 24P. SHould get you out of the hole fast and hit the 60's

Default Prop

I have a 2000 280 with a 502 Mag MPI, Running a B-blades lab finished 26P Bravo, four blade. Gets out decent, cruises at 50 MPH at around 3900 rpm. I have seen 67.8 on GPS with 3 people and 5/8 Tank of Fuel. Highly recomend talking to Brett at Bblades. I ran mercruiser Lab 26P before and only could get 63 with 3 people and cruised at 4300rpm at 45 mph.
New prop is much better on fuel also.

Ok, you guys have sold me on B Blades. 24 or 26? What difference will I see in the two?

I love this site. It's been a frustrating summer, but I've learned alot from you guys. Thanks for all of the responses, both here and other threads I''ve had. In particular, Lazlo you have responded frequently. Thanks

The 24P will definately get you out of the hole faster but you may hit the rev limiter when running light and fully trimmed. If you go with a 24P make sure you tell Brett what you want to do with the boat, he may be able to tweak the 24 to keep the RPM's where they should be.

No problem, I ran a BBlades 24 on my Vyper 500 HP's and loved the performance, good luck with your testing.
