Thanks PQConquest. I understand that there was a blue, red and my purple version of this paint job. It attracts a lot of attention. PQ did a good job. We really like the boat. Well built and a good ride.

OK, right now I have two PQ's. For sale is my 1999 Viper, fitted with HP 500's ( 60 hrs) and it does 77 GPS.
I just bought a 2001 38' Avenger with 575sci's that runs somewhere in the 85-88 range.
We run in Minnesota, on the St Croix and Miss. Rivers. Plan on doing Oskosh Thunder and the Bud Shoot out this year.
I tow with an Excursion 6.0 Diesel. Lots of power .
Any PQ folks doing the Oskosh Thunder??

That is a great looking ride . Have you decided to loose the scoops? if so that cover wont fit either so just let me know I'm the man to take them off your hand Seriously I cant wait to see it down at the shootout it will be a great time. Again congrats.
P.S. you sould consider running the race with those numbers you will do very well.

Thanks. The speed is partially due to the fact the prior owner installed Super Chillers. The Chillers also raise the profile of the motors 4" thus the scoops. Given I want my sun pad back the chillers have to go so I can remove the scoops. Bad part is I will loose some of that speed but should still be able to turn 82-85.
With the chillers out the top of the motors will just meet the bottom of the hatch. The holes in the underside of tha hatch will also provide a little extra space.
I will be getting a new sun pad from PQ so it will once again be factory stock.
Plan on having all the work done by July 4th.

Say I have a drive oil question. Anyone ever had drive oil push its way out of the top of the reservoir. I don't mean a little bit but the whole bottle. Happened to me the other day , no leaks anywhere, the drive was full and fine but all the fluid somehow got tossed from the reservoir. Kind of like a radiator overflow tank. ????????????????????

BillR just had the same thing happen to one of his motors. Turned out the drive oil was leaking into the bellows via a bad pinion seal (I think). You will have to pull the drive to repair it. He also checked the drive gears while it was off and discovered some bad pitting in the upper gears. Had to replace it.

Don't run it again until the leak is repaired.

Are you also going to be getting rid of the chillers? I need to find out if they will work with a carb set up I might just help a brother out and take them off your hands also P.M. me with price and info if you want to sell them. I could just trade you the whole engine cover since mine is set up for the shorter set up, and we would just have to buy new vinyl

It's no 38' put its my first one and am very happy with it except top speed. 58-60mph w/ 21 pitch. I also like the fact that its not just another baja.
