Default New Bimini on 280

Well I finally pulled the trigger and had a new bimini with full camper enclosure made and my question would be to the boys and girls that own 280 Silencers is can you place the bimini under the hatch when transporting the boat to and from the lake??
Also if you have some pics of your set up it would greatly help me out in figuring how to mount it under the hatch.
Thanks in advance on any info you can provide me with!!!
Mike.

The top that I had was made so that it would fit into the engine area. The frame has to made so that it is not as wide as the boat. If your frame is wider than the hatch opening it will not fit. Mine was mounted with the top (canvas) against the back of the boat. The legs pointed forward. There were straps with twist locks on them that wrapped around the top. 2 in the back and 1 on each side. Hope this helps. I loved having the ability to carry the top with me at all times but not have it up unless I needed it. I am having a custom setup made for my 340 this spring and it will mount in the engine well also.

It's nice to have it all hidden when not in use I will agree!!

I guess the exhaust does not get hot enough to damage the cover or is there some precautions that need to be taken?

No, the exhaust does not get too hot. My cover sat right near the exhaust pipes (not the manifolds) and it as fine. The straps hold it above the exhaust so it does not touch. Never had any issues with it at all.
