Default 280 Silencer

I bought a 2000 280 Silencer back in April and absolutly love the boat, but have a few questions. Does this boat have a pump out head in it or what , it has a cap on the front of the bow that says waste water what is this for. The boat has a slightly built 502mpi and will run 76 but it gets vapor lock a good bit any way to fix this.

Cant help with the vapour lock, but if the porta potti has a line from the back of it heading north into the v birth that line would be the "suck out" line for sure.
76 in a mildly built 502 is no slouch, nice speeds!!

Thanks thats what it has. Two lines heading up into the V birth 1 big and 1 small I think it's probably the vent line.

If 76 is gps, you have a very healthy 502. I would think i little more than a mild build. The 502s had a lot of vapor lock issues. They have a fix for your problem but not sure what is is. Go in the search section and type in 502 vapor lock and your answer should pop up pretty easy.

Everyone says they make a kit to fix it but according to my records it already has it installed. The 76 was on a Gaffrig speedo so about + - 2-3. I was going to put it on GPS yesterday but I eaither lost an impeller or got it clogged. I was running along and looked down and my temp was at 240* and water psi was at 0 , shut it down and popped the hatch and out came the smoke. Had already started melting the paint off the left manifold and melted the rubber boot from the exhuast to the tip at the through hull. And even melted one of the metel hose clamps into.
