Needing to drain it.

Ok who has had to drain fuel from a avenger? I am trying to get mine drained and it seems when pushing the hose down the filler neck I hit something down there, I am guessing a screen but not really sure. Does anyone have any ideas on how I can do this?

remove the fuel sender and stick the hose in the tank

Ditto, should be an access through a floor panel.

Well there is one problem, when "I remove the cover all I have is two elbows showing. One is the filler neck and the other is the vent hose. I wish it was a simple as pull the sender, but just my luck its not. Any other ideas?

I wish it was the easy, but the starbord motor is out of it right now.

If the motor is out, couldn't you get most of the fuel out by hooking up an electric fuel pump to that engines fuel line?

you should have one more access panel under the rear seat for the fuel level sender

hmmm I think you are correct, but within the first month of owning this I had a big sub box built under the rear seat. I will have to take that apart to look, thanks

I have a fuel barb and length of fuel line all rigged up for this purpose. Had to do it on one of my older boats. Undid the line at the fuel/water separating filter head, hooked it onto the barbed fitting on the line I made up, hooked the other end of the line to a electric drill pump, and had the tank emptied in no time. What are you going to do with the old gas? I wouldn't trust it even if you treated it with Sta-Bil given how long it has sat.
