Silencer 280

Hi everyone,
I'm looking to buy a Silencer 280, and found this one and would like to know if anybody know this boat. http://www.yachttraderonline.com/lis...encer-97066302
The price seems to be high, but maybe it's worth it.
Any info would be apreciated.
Thank you

Hi, thank you for the reply, first I would like to mention that I'm looking for a 280 with stock 496 HO engine and after reading a few of your post, I can see that yours has a supercharged on it.
By the way I read the tread about the 2 inche shorty, good info on that, with a stock engine do you think it will still blow up or do like you did, add a spacer. About what kind of $$ can it cost

I'm not sure if you would see any gains going with that drive... not enough. motor. That price seems a little high for that particular boat... there's one up by me with a 500efi for that price

look up the blue book on that boat, probably around 35K, keep looking and dont narrow the search just to a 280,

Hi, is there a big difference in price between a boat that has been use in fresh or salt water, can this be seen easily.
Are boats usually selling at the price that Nada gives out ?
Thank you all for the replys

Thank you for your offer, but if you take a look on my second post, I'm looking for a stock 496HO.
I have taken a look at your tread New to Powerquest and you have a good looking boat, for the ink that you gave me, you have to be a member to view deeper to see what the link has to show

I may pay 5-10% more for a fresh water boat, it depends on the owner whether or not you can tell, a well maintained salt water boat can look just as good as a fresh water boat, it just takes a lot more care, washing, flushing, etc..

Their are a few in the classifieds..

Book value really can't be used by the buyer or the seller considering it has no options for upgraded interior, upgraded exterior and graphics, motor hours, labbed props, etc... too many variables that can alter the price of a vessel are not accounted for on Nada or Kbb. That being said a boat is worth what a buyer is willing to pay. With good power I wouldn't be afraid to get into the 40's for an excellent shape 280, but then again your approaching twin engine prices then and why not go bigger? Unless you want to stick with a single... which if that were my case id definitely have a 280 silencer with blue power

Blue motor IS the only way to go! You have to remember with a "blue motor" you get much more than the engine. It's a proven package. The drive, headers and increased re-sale value.
