You can probably find an excursion or 3/4 sub pretty cheap, maybe just a third vehicle? And of course good trailer brakes. I have a 34' scarab and the Powerstroke Excursion was the best thing I have towed with yet. Beats the 1 ton cummins and 3/4 ton duramax I have towed it with.

I've looked at a few 7.3 excursions I really like them...6.0's aren't bad in stock form either but i work for GM so it'd have to be a hell of a deal to go Ford

Hey Magic don't kid yourself he drives a 30 because that's the flavor this year. I am absolutely sure that bitter old man can buy and sell you and your family, and next year don't be suprised if he's paying you minimum wage to wash and wax the number one the side of his hull.
