Ajfisher I have nothing to prove in fact I could care less if you think it is true and I see why you say no. BUT Lake St. Clair is a very tight chop bath tub/lake not like lake Michigan or Huron. The difference is the wave spacing I was running 45 the whole time with no ruff ride or air time a little tab and she was running great. Matt on the other hand was doing some testing and running circles around me no joke he was all over the place. If I were in Lake Michigan or Huron in 5's I would not be able to span the 5's and there for not run 45mph. And yes top speed on my boat is 45mph:lolhit:

Thanks did not plan on buying this year but the deal came up and we jumped we picked it up @ LOTO the shootout weekend which was cool and Mitch happened to be slow/ have a spot for me the week Matt and I came back from LOTO shootout and we droped it off to Mitch for paint work and a detail. Still getting used to the parking with twins.

Headers on the new 502 mercs wasn't aware anyone had made any for the new motor, but I could be wrong??? For all I know the ones form the previous 502's might work but I doubt it with all the sensors and etc that will be associated with have cataletic converters. As far as blue printing the bottom for the boat, any good high end builder does that on all their boats or at a customers request.

I actually posted that the S has a raised X compared to an SSR... but i'll forgive your misread:drink:. The headers was a different boat I thought 288 was referring to. As far as I knew Sunsation did not blueprint all the hulls... but then again i dont have the factory on speed dial so who knows :lolhit:

No misread, you still not up to speed. As you posted the S hull has a raised X. So you are informed, but not totally informed as XRTS have the same style cabin with a raised X. As far as blue printing hulls, when you order a customer boat, most manufacters will do things one asks for.

IF PQ made such a great boat, why hasn't someone bought there molds and started building boats???? Even in a good economy if hull was that great someone would take the opportunity, ya think????

I have not once compared an XRT to an S. The man was talking about a 288 and a difference in x dimensions between the years which I don't know but I do know a difference in trims. I haven't read of a 288 XRT and have no idea if any were built

As far as buying molds... why would anyone start building boats right now? With exceptional brands such as Fountain, Donzi, Outerlimits, etc all struggling to even stay afloat or restructuring under bankruptcy and even more closing their doors what makes u think a starting manufacturer could survive with no previous clientele or reputation to go with. In a good economy maybe itd be different, but in reality right now that was a waste a typing on your part.

I could be wrong but I think the molds were destroyed after the last owner tried to take the company back over after the second owners ran the company into the ground but was unsuccessful. I heard something about him trying to sue for seizure of his property boatnt would know more.

To date I believe there has been only one. We sold it to a gentleman in upstate NY with a 525 in custom devil red paint. I will dig out some pictures for you tomorrow. The boat was definitely bad azz.

Sorry Aj I should have specified just the engine was done in red. The paint is silver/grey/black with a merlot burgandy and matching trailer.

As far as Sutphen, yes still family owned, however, father and son are building seperately. Very long story that has been covered in the Sut forum. If you have nothing to do one day, it is a very good read!

Maybe one day we can all meet out on the big pond and run are boats,Sunnys,PQs,what ever and we could get an idea on hull design and quality,

WRONG AGAIN! HA:lolhit: they did not pick up the power play mold they used a 38 power play hull and cut and changed it to make the 43' I forgive you:drink: They did the same on the 32' to a 36' using thier own hull. But Power Play was and is an awesome boat and you're right, that is why they used it.

Well since you asked, I was giving you the correct information the internet is loaded with mis information so I try my best to give the honest facts and so you can learn too. They used the PP as a great platform to develop a great boat. There is a huge difference IMO. Sunsation did alot of work on the boat for balance and handling. It is not as easy as cutting a 38 and adding 5'. Then to take what you have created and make a mold is a whole task in it self. So you acted as if they bought the Pp mold cut it added 5' and they BAM magic they have a 43'. So IMO there is a difference....
