thanks XLT it is really interesting to see how different each of these boats were and the amount of options you could get. Looks like the motorized hatch along with mirrored under-side hatch was available (getting me thinking bout upgrades).

From what I have heard the LS had VERY limited numbers infact I think I have only seen a picture of one in a junk yard somewhere. Think most went for the BR/XLT's

I hate the way it rides with a full tank. 90% of the time I only run 10-15 gal in it. With full tank it likes to porpise and requires little tab to get it smooth. It is a whole differant boat with a near empty tank, thats the way I like it. I can tell you about any handling you want to know.

Using your XLT as the base for where I would like to bring mine up to (only want to keep it around 300-350 hp because it is going to be used for watersports).

what did it take to get it in the 70ish range, ive been looking for an alpha ss or a stern jack to throw on it but I want to keep it as reliable as possible

mountainmadness 06-23-2011 09:11 PM

Stock it ran 58. Ran 70.1 with 383, vortec heads, airgap, 750, 9.8:1, roller cam 222/230 duration/.509/.528 lift. Emi exhaust and still had a stock alpha w/ 23p mirage

My current motor is as reliable as this one was. Just gotta buy good parts and know what ur doin lol
