Default 290 Enticer not very loud

I have a 91 Enticer w/twin 330 hp 454's.

My previous single screw Baja's with the magnum motor sounded better at cruising speed from a distance. You could here the Baja coming from a mile away.

Don't get me wrong the PQ sounds great from the cockpit, but Dad always complains that when I drive by his house he can barely hear me coming.

Anyone else ever notice this?

Bored and wondering. LOL

Muffler tips, the little flappers inside the exhaust tips to prevent water from flowing back in? Or the pipe from the manifold to the transom?

Thanks

The shutter i mean. if you get rid of these can you just put the clamp on style flappers on stainless tips coming out of the transomer to prevent water inversion?

Would removing these effect engine backpressure in anyway?

Muffler type tips is what I meant... Post a pic.
PQ's have the built in platform which also muffles sound as opposed to the baja style straight transom with steel platform which allows for much more sound

You are correct on the transom and platform. I will get some pics posted.

Funny though even my 90 Baja 250 Sport had the built in platform and you could hear that thing coming from a mile away.

I've got a 92 with 502s and that ***** is just as loud as any of the bajas. Do you have captains call? Mine is set up (from the factory) so that if the pneumatic actuator fails, it fails in the quite position. That might have gone bad? Mine leaks down in about a day or so, so when I start her back up, I have to select back through the transom.

Talking

Take the muffler tips off and get a set of corsa straight through long slash cut, Thats what i did to mine and u can hear it rumble a mile away. The muffler tips are in demand due to noise laws at some lakes, I sold my muffler tips for $500 for two sets and that is exactly what the new corsa's cost me

I inspected the tips this weekend.

They do not appear to be "muffler tips".

When I shined a light up all you have is the internal shutter and then you can see the silent choice. Sorry didnt get any pics though.
