The cockpit is very similar in size, it may be the same just the 280 is shallower. The setup is nearly identical except for the switch panel.
If you're considering a 300, go that route. No camparison in handling. |
I just listed a very nice 280 if I can help out at all just let me know.

Right now it doesn't seem many 29 or 30's are out there for sale...

propwrench, I am very very seriously considering drippinwetII's 300 that boat is great ride great size and going 90 in a 300 revenge its hard not to smile ear to ear.....my biggest stumbling factor is telling myself the fuel useage is not going to put me in the poor house lol just for refrence and piece of mind what kind of fuel useage do you see in the same boat with 496's? The 280 is going use half the fuel but struggle getting the speedo to have a 7 as the first number.....Thanks!

My previous boat was a 290 with 502s. My current is a 280 with pro charged 496. Both boats ran 75. The 2 boats are totally different animals. The 290 is much bigger. The 280 is a great boat and handles great. It rides on top of the water. The 290 rides great but rides in the water. You need to decide whether u want a single engine or twin engine boat. I decided for the single engine to use in different lakes. Both boats will use about the same amount of fuel. You can't really compare the 2 boats.

The price on that 300 is a great deal. You could convert those engines to EFI for $20k, probably a little less. In my opinion, you would still be sitting ok, as it would be more desirable to sell. Or, you could buy mine, and I'll go 90 :coolcowboy: Not that it's for sale, but I could be convinced, the horsepower junkie that I am. |
Who's efi were you thinking? I have been talking to rootz efi....seems like a decent set up. Pricey. But nice.
Whats your boat look like? What do you think yours is worth with 496s? oops getting off topic here... |
