I added one to mine and it really speeds up the opening of the engine hatch. It eliminates the voltage drop from the power running from the switch on the dash all the way back to the hatch motor. Now the switch just operates the relay in the engine compartment which is wired closer with heavier wires so the motor gets full power and moves the hatch faster. I got mine from REX marine and I think Eddie Marine has them too, or you could make one if you search on here for the specs.

This 38 is our first boat with air as well.
When we were shopping for a new ride air was not important to my wife, boy has that changed!
I don"t think I'd buy a boat without it now!

Boatnt had a picture of a relay set up in the General Discussion B.S. thread that Aj started, I'll try to dig it up when I have more time.
It basically helps speed up the hatch speed when lifting/ lowering.

Someone must have a CNCprogram for this heads...I would try to find a person with that.
