Anyone know this boat?
Giving this a serious look.
http://www.boattrader.com/listing/20...-SLS-101948250 Has 400hrs on the engine, 496HO, owner stated that he had the drive re-sealed, trying to find out what that means? There's some dings on the port side that were poorly repaired. http://i1202.photobucket.com/albums/...BADREPAIR2.jpg http://i1202.photobucket.com/albums/...BADREPAIR1.jpg Rear bench needs new vinyl along with the inner pads on the both seats. http://i1202.photobucket.com/albums/.../rearbench.jpg http://i1202.photobucket.com/albums/...riversseat.jpg Tires look good. http://i1202.photobucket.com/albums/...railertire.jpg The boat isn't up to my anal cleaning standards, but I just can't tell. The gel coat scheme IMO sucks. So I posted on RiverDaves Place to see if anyone knows a mechanic that can check the drive and the engine. Any thoughts? |
Dang Bert, unless you can get it to where a new interior wouldnt put you upside down in it... Id probably pass... Cosmetic neglect can mean mechanical neglect more times than not
|
Boat looks like a rat. I'd pass. Something is up with that drive as all the decals are gone.

That's what I was thinking, 2005 boat, that looks beat up already. Yeah the drive cap looks very heated-up, props with calcium deposits, just a lack of maintenance. So I figured I'd low ball them and see what happens. I'm "ok" with the vinyl, but by the time I drop $$$ on an engine and drive survey, shipping, new vinyl and a vinyl wrap to cover up the gel, they are most not likely going to come down to my price. My only problem is that stand-up bow riders are rare, especially with a 496HO.......figures. Now the wife will have me back looking at mass produced, under powered, and over priced by a minimum of $30k Cobalts......suxs.

I didnt see a price, but if it is what you want, and priced accordingly, fixing the interior up a bit, and having the drive checked really wouldnt be all that much $$

As AJ stated, if you are too lazy or just don't give a sh!t about the boat's appearance one can only imagine how well it was taken care of mechanically.

All the pompous a-holes in Dallas have them, they think they are the sh*t and it drives me nutz. They wouldn't know a great boat if it ran them over.
