Hey guys my friend is looking at a 2000 38 avenger with twin 502's. what top speed can he expect out of it? Everything is stock including whatever prop that came with boat new.

I’m thinking at least 70 mph GPS, especially if it’s a late model stepped hull. I have a 1997 Avenger no steps with stock 710 hour 502 mpi mags spinning 25p Mirage Plus BBlades labed props in, and I will see 70.5 GPS in perfect conditions ( lightly loaded, low air temp, nice tight chop) otherwise I will see 68-68.5 all the time. I believe the 2000 Avengers have a lighter advertised dry weight than my 1997 which says 9200lbs.
