Yes something seems off. I have a 1997 Avenger with a non-stepped hull, stock original 502 mpi mags 415hp with 750 hours spinning 25p mirage plus props in that were labbed by Bblades and in perfect conditions I will see 70.2 mph at 4900/4950 rpm and 68 mph gps all the time. At 3000/3100 rpm I’m at 38-39 mph gps.

I am running the same year and combo with around 500hrs. Non-labbed 25p Mirage Plus and similar speeds/rpm.

Well, I just took her out and this is what I came up with. Calm water, by myself, trimmed to the moon(6-7), tabs up and I got 5300 wot, but only 70.5 mph on gps. It looks like I am a long way away from wildmans 82 mph. Almost same horsepower, same boat, but he runs slightly larger props and in saltwater. Thanks for all the help guys.

I run either on the Ohio river or Lake Cumberland. My x dim is high and I only can trim out to 2 1/2 on trim before I blow out. Your 28's are to small that is why you are slipping so much out of the hole. You have no bite in the prop's. I was running 28's with my old 415 mpi's and would hit 70-71 mph. I put a tattle tale speedo in to record actual speed.

Do you have dyno sheets on the HP?

You are trimmed way to high, the boat needs to run flat since it is a stepped bottom.

Also, it won't run as fast when it is calm water.

Salt water won't gain you much, 1.5% maybe.

Either way, if you put larger wheels on it will turn less Rpms.

Pick the day and we will run it up at 500 rpm intervals and record running #'s and conditions. Once we have a good base line we need to get them over to Brett at BBlades and get you the right set of props to start with then get them dialed in. No worries buddy we will get her dialed in. Boat looks and sounds awesome just needs to get dialed in now...

take a close look at your bottom. PQ fixed or not it probably is still jacked up. Been there done that...
