well I thought you were looking for another boat,,what year would you like it to be??...09-10-11-12?maybe 15?

I think this was the hull phil wanted to put a custom hatch and vents on and stick one of the 500's from that Apache into. But like everthing else in that building with them, the project was budgeted on a bad fart and a prayer.

Good question. I have been pondering this A LOT over the last few days. Perhaps someone is afraid of being sued? Perhaps someone very deep in PQ history is involved?? And why the eff is there still no one popping these hulls again??? There really are no new options on the market these days that I am really that interested in..... The time is now........

Let's face it guys, the 38 are awesome as they are but they need work to bring them into current standards for a new built boat for today standards.
IMO there would need to be tweaks done to the hull to bring it up to new standards.
Engine compartment needs the room of the 300 in front of the engines for ease of servicing, and the notched transom should be eliminated (eliminate the 34 ft running surface) and make it 36' + of running surface.
Re-tweak the dash to encompass ressessed electronic navigation and include power bolsters as standard. New power with the 565 and ITS to name a few upgrades, Ilmors would be an awesome choice.
Again this is only my opinion and what I would want to see in a new build.

The notched transom gave it the speed. Bring them to standards, that's what Phil was attempting to do when he started vacuum bagging them. They have no produced a completed boat since 2006, of course things need to be brought up to today's standards. As for the person that said that someone needs to start plugging the molds because there aren't any options. That's because there is not a large enough market. Look at all the other power boats, fountain, Baja, formula, sunsation. They are defunct or really hurting.

To answer everyone's questions. It is not a former pq employee, its not the bank. Someone approached the bank and bought the 22 and the 38. He has assembled a crew to put them together. As for the auction, if you plan on purchasing this boat and have to trailer it any distance, find another trailer.

So is the 38 boat going to be completed to the point where one has to add gas and go or???
Why not have a build thread going to help gather interest?

From my understanding the 38 will need motors, drives, and transom assy.

Hey... there is a great idea! :lolhit: Why did they not think of that! :thankyouthankyou:

They must not want interest in the boat since the contact I had for it would not call me back.

I wonder what it will have for paint/graphics, and what they would want for it like mentioned?

IMO, it isn't worth much with no power, drives, or transom assys. Those pieces will be more than the boat is even worth.
