Default 270 laser transom thickness?

Having to replace the transom in my 270 laser. Wood was so rotted that I could not get an accurate measurement of the plywood thickness. Anyone know what the ply thickness should be and the overall thickness when glassed? Thanks.

It should be about 2 1/4" for a standard Merc Bravo
you need 2- 4x8 -3/4" sheets of 7 ply some say marine some say exterior house plywood,,if its sealed good I do not think it matters, but you use what you are comfortable with it..

2 1/8 is the standard....max of 2 1/4. We stick to the 2 1/8 for the best alignment of the driveshaft on all our transom work and prefer 3 layers of 1/2" glassed together.
