$hitty picture but my buddy owned this 2002 70 for 70 boat, his small blocks always ran just a bit faster than my big block 290s

Yes, if it started in '01 that is the year the 6.2 replaced the 7.4MPI and the 496 replaced the 502. I thought they had some old stock of the 7.4's in inventory that they were putting in the boats. Hence why I remember them coming with big blocks. I have a vague memory of a posting somewhere of a promotional ad for them that listed what options you got. I'll see if I can hunt that down.
