Winter Blues
I am seeing the end of winter coming. To help pass the time, I went shopping. I bought a 25 qt Icey-Tek cooler and a Anchor-Shade 6 ft umbrella. I have been looking for a sub-woofer and amp but have not settled on a brand yet. Any ideas?
The cooler looks pretty nice. The best feature is a lock to keep my beverages safe from fellow power boaters. :D Last weekend at the Kansas City boat show I heard that there was a new 30 PQ there. I attended but must have missed it. My friends said it had the flame paint job. Looked pretty cool they claimed. Just buying my boat, I guess I was not looking close enough. I am kind of bummed on missing it. Come on Summer! Dave |
Re: Winter Blues
I am no stereo guru, but I am installing a 10" Infinity sub in my 29. Haven't quite figured out were yet, but after having this sub in my previous boat I may never buy another brand of speaker again. I have sold several others on the brand after they hear it.
I am going to the St. Louis show next weekend, hope to see some PQ gear and buy some waxing frenzy, as well as drool over fiberglass. Finally I can see the light at the end of winter. My goal is to get a late March weekend in the low 60's and hit the water. I also have a new 10k poly lift being installed in March so the action will pick up soon. -Wally |
Re: Winter Blues

Re: Winter Blues
Dave:
I had Boston Accustic's in my 29 with a JL Audio sub sounded pretty good, but like you I am redoing the 38 right now and looking at Polk Audio or Infenity. Good luck :D :D Dave why dont you drive to St.Louis next weekend and join us for a coktail :drink: or two :drink: :drink: Calvin: I did not go to Miami either but do I wish I was there :( Oh well what can beat Illionois in Feb. It was a blasting 26 deg today in the center of hell. I know that if I wish long enough summer will get here soon, you know like in June. :D I believe that I am going to Miami next year, but we will see. Don't worry winter is almost over  Calvin are you doing St.Louis? |
Re: Winter Blues
No Miami show for me, but after reading about it so much sounds like we are really missing out.
I don't think Rich is going to Miami either unless that is new news. We'll both be in STL though, along with Rain or Shine..... I am really anxious to run my boat, I have all of 15 minutes on it. |
Re: Winter Blues
Thanks for the opinions on the subs.
What are the dates of the STL show? I am in the area once or twice a month on business. Cocktails sound good! Speaking of cocktails, does anyone know how to make an Appletini? My wife tried one recently and now they are the favorite drink. I need to figure this out before the boating season starts in the midwest!! :evilb: |
Re: Winter Blues
Dave
I believe the St.Louis show starts on Thursday Feb 24 and goes through Sunday Feb 27. Hopefully you can make it. :drink: I have not had an Appletini sorry :( |
Re: Winter Blues
:drink: Appletini Many variations on this one. The Main ingerdient is vodka ( two shots) and one of an apple schnapps. The bar I manage, central WI) we use a double of a decent vodka of your choice, a single apple pucker, a dash ( 1/2 shot) sweet and sour mix, and garnish wth a cherry in the bottom of a chilled martini glass. Some recipes call for spalsh of seven-up though. Experiment
