Understood. I respect what you are saying. I agree. 79 is too much. The boat is very clean and has very low hours. However, putting a number on it that is what a Pantera 28 is worth would be a bit low. If the motors aren't genuine needs I think it's 65 today. If they are, the motors and drives alone are $45k. The hull has to be worth more than $10k though. I know the boat sold for $135k less than 2 years ago. I wish I could find the original owner
Lets be clear, merc engines are GM based, so not hadr to clone or change. However "stock" is and always will be worth more. Maybe they started as genuine merc, but they are no longer, therefore less desirable to the AVERAGE buyer, which brings up resale and value concerns.
Sounds like you are already sold on the boat, which is great....again, you are ultimately the only one that has to be happy with the deal. It's only worth what the buyer will pay. However, I was trying to address the concerns you already were aware of in your first post....listed below.
Hey guys...getting real close to pulling the trigger on a new rig for this summer. Been looking at several other boats including Fountain and Black Thunder. Can anyone give me some insight on the 40V? I get the whole fact that the company is out of business....hulls have been known to crack etc. Can anyone put me in touch with touch with the guy who may have built the boat? It's a 2003. Trying to get an idea of what the boat will run top end how much it weighs etc. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Boats look pretty cool, just not sure if the cost savings it worth it over the long haul with regards to hold up, resale etc.

I have seen this on youtube up in Chi town. Just look up profile boats on youtube. I have a 29V profile with the 496 HO in it and I love it. Handles the chop at loto great. You have to check the transom really well on the profile boats because they are real thin. I had my entire transom replaced with some stringers and now everything is great. Profile is known for listing to one side too so have the hull checked. Good Luck
