30 Sutphen Prop Help
Ok I can't give much rpm or speed info yet. I have only had the boat out 1 time and only up to 4k, at 4k it was around 50mph. I had plenty of throttle left.
I'm just looking for a good starting point. I Have a set of 25 mirages on it now. The boat ia a 1981 30ft sutphen. Motors are 502's and make in the low 500hp range. Drives are TRS.
Do you think 25's are close? Should I be running a 4 blade? The boat had 22 Bravo ones on it. Can these be repitched bigger to better fit my application?
Thanks Rob

Re: 30 Sutphen Prop Help
Are they Mirages or are they the Mirage Plus?
The props you have now are a good starting point get some time on the boat and get a feel for what the boat is doing. Then with that information you can decide what you want from the boat. Do you want to get on plane better, do you want more top end, more cruise speed, better handling, etc.
Whats the target wide open throtte rpm. That will have an effect on what pitch prop is right for you.
The 22 Bravo 1's can be up-pitched about an inch, if they need to be.

Re: 30 Sutphen Prop Help
I have Mirage plus 4 blade 26's... Scott & Ruben both were suprised at the size of the prop on my 30' but wow what a midrange... little slow out of the hole.
I have 420's & TRS

Mirage and Mirage Plus only comes in a 3BL configuration. The Bravo 1 would be the 4 BL comparison for the Mercury line.
