My friend has a '04 27 Fever,496 HO,1.65 gear,XZ drive,30" labbed BI from Mercury..At present his #'s are 4000 rpm=51 (26%),4500=58 mph (25%),5100rpm(wot)69mph(21%)I realize a 30 B1 is really a 29 but I used 30 all around as a base line.Aren't those % numbers a little high?Completely stock except for the labbed B1.Any ideas? Thanks,BOB

Numbers are high.
Where is the prop shaft in relation to the lowest point of the boat bottom? Fountain has continued to raise drives over the last few years. You can either space down or go to 5blades to decrease slip %. Spacing with the 4BL will reap the best top numbers and multi blades will help everywhere with a little less than the 4BL at WOT.
