Poorsche Did you ever think that the new 454's are only 300hp. That mite be the problem. If the boat ran good with the 370's your new motors mite be the problem. Put up some motor specs, 454's can make hp anywhere from 300 to 650hp with a single carb pump gas and no supercharger.

I did the unthinkable--I read the manual--looks like its 330HP per MarinePower with optimum WOT of 4800 RPM. I'm only turning 400-4110 at WOT. I even checked this weekend to see if the throttle cable was pushing the thing wide open--it is.
I've changed the drives--still TRS but I think they are deeper in the water han the originals. THe prop shaft is 9" below bottom at drive--drives are 33 1/2 apart on center.

I'm not sure I'm there yet but they are more powerfull than the 420's were. I am still contemplating some carb changes, and I have a set of Vortech superchargers ready to go on this fall.
