which prop Donzi 22zx
 

Hi I have a Donzi 22zx 454MPI 310 HP dana headers jacobs ignition and k&N filter currently have a bravo 1 lab finished prop 22pitch my boat at WOT will do about 60mph at 4200 rpm. im sure i can do much better on top end. the boat planes out great after i installed the edge hydrofoil and it dint afect my top end at all runs the same top end with or with out the hydrofoil. im also in new mexico and the lakes here are about 4000 ft above sealevel. im open to any ideas on what prop i need to get more top end and more rpms

A 3BL propeller should reap the largest returns on top end for your boat. In order to reach higher rpm figures you may need to consider lower pitches.

so are you thinking a 23 3 blade or 24 4 blade and having a lab finished to a 23 ?

My buddy just had a 22 laser labbed by throttle up for his 20' checkmate, same motor and drive. Slipps a little out of the hole but once its going it runs its a$$ off. He picked up 4mph on the top and it cruises well too.

which prop did he have labed up was it a 22 4 blade

If you need more rpm you need less pitch. Or your current prop labbed. What rpm do you need to run?

I have a friend with the same boat and motor. He has tried many props and none work as good as the Bravo 22p. 3 blades wont come out of the hole for crap, but will run a few more on top end. The trade off was not worth it. Cruising sucks with the 3 blade too. We boat on Powell 3600' elevation. He gets around 55mph at 4400-4500rpm
