Re: Mercury Revolution4 props
Looks like the bulk of you guys are running the Rev's on outboards. Anyone running one on a mid sized single deep v with a sterndrive?? If so whats your thoughts?

Re: Mercury Revolution4 props
Fast Forward,
A couple of guys above ran them on their Baja's. Bblades can help you figure out what is best for your setup. His number is somewhere on this thread. From my understanding the Rev 4's do really well with boats that need less stern lift and more bow carry. The help boats with a lot of transom lift settle the props down into better water(less airy) which gives better bite and carries the bow. Outboards and step bottoms tend to not carry the nose as much as a high powered in/out. It my case I have both. CrB |
Re: Mercury Revolution4 props
CrB, Thanks for the info. I've tried a Bravo 1 4 blade on my boat which gave to much stern lift for a very loose ride. The boat seems to prefer the Mairage Plus props, but if the Rev lifts the bow and not the stern that may be what I'm looking for.

Re: Mercury Revolution4 props
Assuming that is what you need, I have heard from others the Rev should perform about the same at the top end as the Mirage 3 blade. You should see a considerable amount of cruise increase. Some have said as much as 7mph or something like that. Good luck!

Re: Mercury Revolution4 props
crb 76,
BUIZZILA and I discussed how the Labbed "23" ran and where he needed to be. We decided to try the 21's first. We may end up working some 23's but need a base line first. fastforward, We actually designed the Revolution series for single engine stern drives. They have proved to work on many other application now. Let us know if you want to test any. |
Re: Mercury Revolution4 props
BBLADES I have decided to put a 2'' shortie on my drive so in the spring I'll run my lab 26 for a base to see if it hocks up. because might have to go to a 5 blade or would the rev4 still be good to try? and could it be lab to a larger pitch ? art

Re: Mercury Revolution4 props
AIR TIME,
Once you get some numbers from the Bravo 1, we can discuss your options. Remember the diameter on the Rev 4 is about a 1/2" smaller than the Bravo 1. Drive heights do affect propeller selection. I'm assuming you're asking if we can Lab the 25's to 26's. The answer is yes. |
Re: Mercury Revolution4 props
Bblades,
Did you receive my props yet? |
Re: Mercury Revolution4 props
I recieved your voice mail and yes we did on 11-4-05
We'll try to get on ASAP. I took my "4th" day "off" this year last Friday, shame on me. Now it takes a week to catch up. I'll be in touch. |
Re: Mercury Revolution4 props
Great! Thanks!
I ran the 24 Bravos again this weekend. I look at performance at every 100 RPM from 6000-6400. @6000 = 65, @6100=65.5, 6200=66, 6300=65.1, 6400=65. Why is this? Is it props or could it be the HP peeks at 6200-6300 vs. 6400? |
