Re: props for a 42 tiger non step
I think you would do very well with the Hydromotive P5-X props. Is it twins or triples? What year is the hull? At what RPMis the peak HP produced?

My buddy has close to 700 and runs 32 Bravo I's. Goes 82.2

Julie i was told that 5 blades dont do well on a non step tiger is that true |
Re: props for a 42 tiger non step
I think you will like the Bravo 1 propellers. There are things to consider though. What are your goals? 5 blades do have their place. if the X is high and cruise of the essence.
Lets get a baseline with some type of propeller first. Let us know if we can help in that regard. |
Re: props for a 42 tiger non step
I have several clients with 42' Tigers and the 5B propellers have performed well. They simply carry the boat better than the 4B props for overall performance and handling. But lets define your goals and then we can look at the best route to acheive them.

Re: props for a 42 tiger non step
im looking for top speed prop but would still like a decent cruise speed ive done the prop calc at 5400 rpms with a 10% prop slip with a 30 at 90-92mph

Re: props for a 42 tiger non step
If you indeed have 10% slip then a 5B propeller will not give you more top end. Remember that you need to reduce one inch of pitch if you are calculating slip on Bravo I propellers. So a 30P Bravo I is really a 29P , which would give you a slip of 8% using 91MPH for top end at 5400 RPM with 1.5 gears. So again the 5B propeller will not increase your top end, but will help your cruise speeds and handling. If your 30P Bravo I props are not Lab Finished then you may consider stepping up in pitch and labbing.

Re: props for a 42 tiger non step
We have found the Bravo 1's to carry these boats very well. For top speed as stated earlier, I think you'll like the Bravo 1's.

So I Would Lose 1 Mph Top How Much Gain In Cruise
