I have a 24 foot baja with 454 300 hp. I had a through the hull exhaust put on last season and the wot went up 200 to around 5000. does anybody know if it would be alright to go to a 23 pitch from a 21 pitch.

If i'm not mistaken the RPM range on that motor is 4,200 to 4,600 ... going from a 21 to a 23 should drop you approx 300 rpm which still puts you 100 rpm above the reccomended rpm range..... I would try a 23 mirage plus should put you were you want to be..
Absolute best prop I ever tried on my 23 baja was a labbed 26 Bravo 1 4 blade, hole shot and handling was awesome, rpms were a bit low at 4,200 but the top end increased 3 mph over a 23 mirage plus ( less slip )...

Each inch of pitch is equal to 200 RPM when comparing like props. So the 2 inch of pitch increase will decrease your RPM by 400. THis should put you at 4600 RPM.
