That's kind of a tough question. Everybody has their place.

I believe if you send props to a reputable shop with a long standing reputation you will be satisfied. The thing to remember when doing so, gather as much information about your boat as possible. The shop you send it to whether it is Mercury Racing, Throttle Up, Precision Propeller, DAH, BBLADES or others, we are only as good as the information you can supply us.

Brett is on the money on that one. Props are like computers; garbage in, garbage out. In another words, the prop is only going to be as good as the information provided to the prop company.

If you can get a Hering Bravo prop in 8 weeks you would be one of the few.

Hering props are manufactured quite differently than most other props. They are, to some extent, CNC machined. They are much more consistent and accurate than traditional cast props. Cast props have some major downsides that sometimes just can't be fixed. There are also some differences on the metallurgical side when compared to most other props.

Is it true that you shouldn't try to lab a hydromotive prop? I've heard that the Bravo is best when it is labbed, but a hydromotive should be left alone.

The crew at BBLADES have been Lab Finishing Bravo 1 and Maximus Merc props since the day they were designed. We have found the Mercury propellers respond better to Lab finishing than the Hydromotive propellers.

That being said, it dosen't mean the Hydro's are inferior, it just means we find more adaptability and adjustability with the Mercs.

However, In some situations the Hydromotives out perform the Mercury props, and can be adjusted to perform better than stock Hydros.

Hydromotive propellers respond well to lab finishing. The question really is does your boat respond well to lab finishing.
