Default 353fastech prop ?

I have a 2006 353fastech w/496HO's ,Bravo1x drives, and factory installed 4 blade 28p props.....i have been told that 26p labbed maximus 5 blades will give me a better top end, and improved mid-range. I have seen 72mph@4600rpms, light chop, saltwater. Any thoughts from the more experianced would be appriciated. Thanx, ERIC

same boat more options 73.5 GPS full fuel, full gear, stock 26 Bravos.

this is at 5000 RPM I am propped right against the rev limiter. Laptop scan of port engine showed just last week 114 touches on the limiter for a total of 6 seconds in 158 hrs.

shows my rev limit being 4994 RPM.

28's had no midrange and I can keep the boat on plane at a far lower speed with less tab with the 26's

I'm interested in the Maximus too for the cruise efficiency.

Rippem, Thanx for the input. I only have 15hrs on the boat. I am just curious about those Maximus props...At 44-4600 she is still pulling but I haven't let it go all the way yet. Did your boat come propped with the 26pitch blades? I think I should let mine loosen up a bit before I start "messin' with the props".

No mine came with 28's but I felt it was piggish. The 26's are better performers overall as I run heavily loaded alot.

15 hours? It's ready for oil/filter changes and WOT!
