Default Really basic, easy prop questions:

What is the basic difference in performance characteristics between 3 blade and 4 blade props ?

I am running 26p Bravo 4 blades and need to gain some rpm. I can only muster 4200 rpm. I`d like to turn at least 4800 and 5000 would be even better. These are 420 engines, recommended rpm range 4800-5200.
Should I go 3 or 4 blade ?
What pitch 3 blade is equivalent to my 26P 4 blade ?

A 25 Mirage Plus is is closer than a 27 Mirage Plus is to your 26 Bravo 1. 27's are a little high in pitch. It will be tough to gain the rpm's you need with your 26 and maintain efficiency. Sutphen can run 3 and 4 blade props. Some more testing is in order.
