Bravo-1 vs. Revolution-4 (Labbed vs. Stock)
 

I was planning to put a labbed 24" Bravo-1 4-blade on my Baja 232 (454 Mag MPI w B1) which is presently running a stock 23" Mirage/PLUS 3-blade prop. A cleaner holeshot, less turning cavitation and mid-range throttle control are key objectives, not so much top end.

It was suggested by a knowledgable dealer to consider a stock 23" Revolution-4 prop (or stock 22" Bravo-1) in lieu of the labbed 24" Bravo-1 due to possible excess slippage of the labbed prop. Anyone have any experience with this type of situation?

Go with the Rev 4 23 pitch. You will be very happy.

I really like the Rev 4 BBlades just sent me for my boat, I don't have any Bravo experience so I really cant compare them though.

We have the 23 pitch 4 blade Revolutions on our boat and we can't say enough to how well the boat responds to these props.

We tried 12 to 15 sets of props on our 1988 31 ft Stinger. This was the only prop to get the bow up and air under the boat. We're going to lab them this winter as we know we'll see some slight improvement with our speed and RPM's. We picked up several RPM's and increased our speed by 2-3MPH.

I'm pretty happy with the labbed 28p Bravo 1 that BBlades did for me, but I wonder how my boat would run with a Rev 4?
The Rev 4 seems to push old school straight V bottom boats vary well.
What is the max pitch offered these days?
I run a 26p or labbed 28p Bravo 1; is there a comparable Rev 4?

I'm not positive but I believe the largest pitch offered is a 23". Steve

I messed around with Merc's prop selector and got it to spit out a 25p Rev 4. After that it only suggests Mirage + or Bravo 1.
I think I'd need a 27p Rev 4...

A 4 BLADE WILL SLIP LESS THENE 3 BLADE SO A 224B IS A GOOD START LABBED PROPS ARE GOOD BUT THERE ARE NOT MENT TO USE EVERY DAY THERE THINED OUT AND THEY GET WEEK I RIP A EAR OFF OF ONE AND I DIN NOT HIT ANYTHING IT JUST GOT WEEK AND BROKE

25 is the largest Rev 4 made. I am still lobbying for 27's but with all the other things going on right now, my wishes are falling on deaf ears. I know we would have many applications they would work on.

I should of pushed harder when I still worked there.
