Default 4 Blades to 5 Blades

We're running 32p 4 blade bravo props. I want to try a 5 blade hydro, keep the same RPM (5350), but hopefully pick up a few mph. Would I go down to a 31p or a 29p? Does this sound attainable? Thanks in advance.

I have the 29P P5-X props for testing if you would like to try them.

Thanks Julie. Running 92-93mph with the 4 blades now, do you see any increase in the top end with the 5 Blade Hydro?

30P P5X
You should gain 3mph.
I had a 32P bravo 4 blade and went to the 30P P5X gained 3mph.
The 29P was hitting rev limiter with boat full of gas.

That would be sweet. Did you gain or lose any RPM with the 30p 5 blades from the 4 blade 32's?

I lost about 100 rpm but I also put a 1" spacer on my drives.
The P5X 5 blade prop is awsome.
Might also want to talk to Throttle up about their new CNC props if your looking for max speed.

so what speed do you top out at now? did you notice any mid range increase? why add the spacer with the new prop, did you test the prop before you put the spacer on?

thanks

I'm sure the spacer had as much to do with the dial in as the propeller.

5 blade props are a blessing! However, we still need to remember in today's market, over high X dimensions can be band aided with 5 blade props.

The real dial in requires one goals and the knowledge of drive height adjustments with 3 and 4 blades versus 5 blade propellers.

We have a full line of 3,4 and 5 blade props for testing at nominal $10 fee. Let us know if we can help.
