Prop info
I have two props lying around that I would like information on.
Casting number are as follows:
48-93591-24 and 24054(stamped on the outside of hub)
48-77320-24 and 24053(stamped on the outside of hub)
They came off of my 85 312 Stinger CC with twin Trs 400hp motors. I was told in the past they are choppers.
Would they work on my 88 27 Fountain fever with 330hp per side with bravos? Currently running the original 25P mirages.
Thanks in advance. George

Re: Prop info
prostock85,
I looked this up in a cross ref. index and the numbers are not listed. I would guess that the props are older. Post a pic and maybe that will help with identification.

Re: Prop info
No need to post pictures.
These are chopper props we built at Mercury. These are the second generation (so to speak). They are 14.5" diameter designed for the larger 4.75" OB gear case instead of the original 14" that was built for the old inline 6 cyl. engines. Should be round bore, front hub loaders.
I'm sure they were on the Stinger to aid in bow lift. Not a great weight carrying propeller. Probably not the best idea on the Fountain unless you have the perfect water conditions and you lighten the boat as far as you can.
